Stefan Metzger founded Beyond Civic AG in spring 2022 to contribute his professional experience and expertise in the field of digitalization, digital transformation and smart city with the aim of sustainable development.

As CDO of a large Swiss city, Stefen Metzger was responsible for both the digitization of the administration and the smart city development of the city region until 2022. Prior to that, he was Head of Smart City for the group-wide Smart City program of Swisscom and built up the Smart City and IoT program of Swiss Post.

Stefan Metzger holds a degree in both mechanical engineering and industrial engineering. He has many years of experience in research and development as well as in innovation management. Both in the start-up environment and in large companies.

In his respective roles, he has always been actively involved in the sustainable development of digital transformation in Switzerland and is, among other things, co-initiator and co-founder of the national associations “Smart City Hub” and “Myni Gmeind”.
