Ofir Nichtern is the Co-Founder and CEO of Eikolos, a deep-tech startup pioneering camera-based optical communication systems. With a background in electro-optics, physics, and systems engineering, Ofir drives innovation in advanced imaging and sensing technologies, developing solutions where each camera pixel functions as an optical receiver—enabling precise localization and robust communication in challenging environments.

Previously, Ofir served as a System Physicist at CMT Medical Technologies (acquired by Thales), contributing to the development of advanced medical imaging systems. He also worked at Rafael as a multidisciplinary systems engineer, overseeing the development of multiple complex projects at the intersection of hardware and software.

Ofir is passionate about leveraging optical technologies to solve critical challenges in defense, homeland security, mobility, and smart infrastructure. In addition to these domains, he is also exploring the potential of this technology for next-generation AR and smart glasses.
